越來越多的教師正在考慮離開教師行業，South East Corner 的一些學校一次發佈多達 12 個職位。
據昆州政府智能就業網站（ Qld Government’s smart jobs website ） 顯示，昆州各大都市和人口密集地區有超過一百個教師職位空缺。
South Brisbane 的教師空缺數量有 50 多個，似乎是眾多地區中最多，而且有幾所學校需要數學和英語、以及其他重要科目的教師。
Ipswich State High School 提供 12 個職位，包括科學、數學、健康和體育、英語、人文和數位技術教師。
但在農村和偏遠地區也有類似的情況，Mackay 的 Sarina State High School 也有多達七個職位空缺，包括數學、科學和英語。
教育部發言人表示，目前他們仍保持強大的教師隊伍，聘用的教師數量始終高於自然流失的教師數量。
“昆州目前的教師空缺率穩定維持在2 % 左右， 教育部全年積極招聘教師，以滿足學生和學校的需求。 ”
他們表示：“ Queensland State Schools 的教師保留率仍然很高，約有 95 %的教師留在了該行業，這一比例在全國名列前茅。 ”
